The Entrance
The Entrance is a classic seaside town about 20 minutes drive from Avoca Palms Resort. The entrance is known for its beautiful beach, pelican feeding, fishing, boat hire, prawning and many shops, restaurants and cafes. During the holiday season, it is buzzing with holidaymakers from all over the country. If you are not as keen on the beach, The Entrance is also located on Tuggerah Lake. There are plenty of free BBQs and picnic tables on the shore of the lake and plenty of fishing, swimming and other water sports available.
Memorial Park
Memorial Park is located on the foreshore at the Entrance. In holiday times they have fun rides and attractions for families. There is a water park called Vera’s Water Garden with a wading pool that is extremely popular with the younger kids. They have brightly coloured water fountains and non-slip ground covers for safety.
There are BBQs and plenty of grassed areas to enjoy a picnic or watch the Pelican feeding plus a fenced-in playground and large chess set to enjoy a big game of chess. Just an all-round fantastic place to visit for families.
Pelican Feeding
The biggest attraction in the Entrance is Pelican Feeding. Feeding occurs every single day of the year at 3:30pm at the foreshore next to memorial park. The Pelicans are not only fed but they are checked over and treated for any injuries they may have. This is an excellent thing to do while on holidays. Gives you a chance to get up close and personal with these magnificent birds.
The Entrance Beach
The Entrance Beach is a small beach, just 300m in total. The patrolled beach is just at the end of the boardwalk. There are flags set up here in the months that the beach is patrolled. It is patrolled from the beginning of September school holidays to the end of the April school holidays. It is also a popular surfing beach. There is a beautiful 10-minute walk between Memorial Park and the beach. You have beautiful views of The Entrance Channel, which goes into Tuggerah Lakes, and there are lookouts and plenty of seating along the path to enjoy the stunning views.
The Baths
The Entrance Baths contain 3 swimming pools: a 50m lap pool, a 22m pool and a shaded wading pool for children. The baths at the Southern End of the Patrolled beach. The baths are great for doing laps or if you don’t feel confident in the ocean or have little kids. There are plenty of shaded areas to sit and enjoy the stunning location.
