The Entrance

The Entrance is a classic seaside town about 20 minutes drive from Avoca Palms Resort. The entrance is known for its beautiful beach, pelican feeding, fishing, boat hire, prawning and many shops, restaurants and cafes. During the holiday season, it is buzzing with holidaymakers from all over the country. If you are not as keen on the beach, The Entrance is also located on Tuggerah Lake. Memorial Park

Memorial Park is located on the foreshore at the Entrance. In holiday times they have fun rides and attractions for families. There is a water park called Vera’s Water Garden with a wading pool that is extremely popular with the younger kids. They have brightly coloured water fountains and non-slip ground covers for safety.

There are BBQs and plenty of grassed areas to enjoy a picnic or watch the Pelican feeding plus a fenced-in playground and large chess set to enjoy a big game of chess. Just an all-round fantastic place to visit for families.

Pelican Feeding

The biggest attraction in the Entrance is Pelican Feeding. Feeding occurs every single day of the year at 3:30pm at the foreshore next to memorial park. The Pelicans are not only fed but they are checked over and treated for any injuries they may have. This is an excellent thing to do while on holidays. Gives you a chance to get up close and personal with these magnificent birds.
