What’s Happening these School Holidays on the Central Coast

Make the most of winter this July on the Central Coast and marvel at the magnificent whales that will pass by the Central Coast during their annual migration. Take the kids whale watching these July school holidays as the season has already started. The WilderQuest is holding a lookout for kids and families at the Wyrrabalong National Park on Tuesday 1st of July from 9am to 11:30am. Don’t forget to bring warm clothes, sun protections, snack, drink and binoculars. If you still need something for your whale fixation there will be a community held Whale Dreamers Festival being held from 10am to 2pm at Norah Head Lighthouse. Locals will be celebrating these magnificent mammals while raising awareness for the plight of whales. This event will be free.

The Melbourne Ballet Company is in Town!
The renowned Melbourne Ballet Company will be in town to perform a set of four pieces to dazzle the residents and visitors of the Central Coast. Since 2007, the Melbourne Ballet Company has been touring around Australia performing a world class ballet. On Tuesday the 15th of July and Wednesday the 16th of July they will be performing at the Laycock Street Theatre starting at 8pm. Their performance will be a set of four works; On Air, Phrased Without Word, Motion Transcend and Le Sacre Du Printemps performed by a team of ten professional dancers. This is an event not to be missed.

A Day at the Races

Looking for something to fill the large gap between Sydney’s Autumn Racing Festival and Melbourne’s Spring Carnivale; head up to the Central Coast this July. The grand old Wyong Race Club will be holding the Westpac Rescue Helicopter Raceday on Thursday the 3rd of July, which promises to be a great day , supporting the Rescue Helicopter cause in New South Wales. Towards the end of the month the Gosford Race Club will also be holding the Men of League Raceday on Thursday the 24th of July as well as the National Jockeys trust raceday on Thursday the 31st of July. So why not enjoy a day at the races this winter on the Central Coast.

Market Madness

It’s Market Madness this July on the Central Coast! It kicks off on the Saturday the 5th of July at the Tuggerah Handmade Markets at Westfield Tuggerah from 9am-2pm. Situated on the Corner of Cobbs and Wyong Rd, Tuggerah, this market focuses on handmade and craft products. If that doesn’t take your fancy you can head off to the Entrance Farmers Market on Saturday the 5th of July at Memorial Park, Marine Parade, The Entrance. After something a bit different? The Recycled Chic Market will be held on Sunday the 6th of July from 10 am at the Erina Trust Hall, Ilya St, Erina for your inner fashionista. The following weekend the Macquarie Shores Markets will be held from 9am to 2pm at the Lake Haven Recreation Club with clothing, craft, jewellery stalls as well as food vendors. While the Returned Service League will be holding a Market at Davistown from 9am-2pm on Sunday the 20th July at 19 Murna Rd, Davistown. The jewel of the markets is the Avoca Beachside Market held on Sunday the 24th of July at Heazlett Park, only a small stroll from the Avoca Palms Resorts. With the beautiful Avoca foreshore as its backdrop the Avoca Beachside Market is not to be missed.
